Out With The Old, In With The New

Out With The Old, In With The New

Written By: Saeeda Ruffin

It’s time to say, Bye Bye 2021 and Hello 2022! Yes, it was a good year and all, but now, it’s time to get excited about what’s going to be popping in 2022. A whole new year is dawning and the possibilities that come with it are absolutely endless. Sis, this is your chance to really strive to receive everything you feel life is supposed to be giving…unbarred, unhindered, and unbothered, just go for yours!

There’s no time like the present when it comes to making moves to further your interests or creating a better future for yourself. Of course, every year brings its own challenges and 2021 was no different, but you conquered yours like a BOSS! You should be proud of what you accomplished in 2021. As we turn the page on Chapter 2021, here are a few strategies to use as you usher in Chapter 2022 with positivity and a renewed sense of purpose:

Get Brand New With Your Goals

Start the year off by writing yourself a letter about your dreams and goals. Use your Izzy & Liv To-Do List or your Izzy & Liv Vision Board Kit to create a visual plan for your goals. There’s something amazing about being able to see and visualize what you’re trying to accomplish. Yes, last year did its thing, BUT, this year, when you map out your plan, get brand new with it. You may have some long-term goals that you are aiming to achieve. That’s awesome! Try not to limit yourself to just those, though. Set unique quarterly, monthly, or even daily goals that will keep you grinding and motivated throughout the new year. These can be something as simple as trying out new styles, setting new financial goals in your Izzy & Liv Budget Planner, or even experimenting with some DIY type stuff. Whatever you decide, just dive in and relish the new experiences.

Do Things In A Fresh, New Way

Doing the same things will generally get you the same results. Well, not this year, Sis. Shake things up and deviate from your “norm.” Consider different ways to bring your plans to fruition. You may need to get out of your comfort zone and seek opportunities with people and in places you may not have considered in the past. There is more than one way to win. Find apps to help you become more efficient and effective, whether in your personal life or at work. Think creatively and act accordingly, as you explore interesting, or even daunting, alternative measures to help you succeed. Investigate, inquire, and put some of the “old ways” to rest. By taking a different approach, you may exceed even your own expectations!

Embrace New Perspectives

Life can be amazing, but when people go through it with a closed mind, it can become routine, boring, and really predictable. Who wants that? Life is meant to be lived.  Fun, personal growth and satisfaction -- the goal is for life to give ALL OF THAT! So, this year, in the words of En Vogue “Free Your Mind”. Open yourself up to really considering new and different perspectives. It may lead to you being more relatable and a better resource for others. Looking at things through an unfamiliar lens may give you an even greater sense of personal freedom and growth in other areas of your life.

Whether it’s spiritual, financial, professional, or personal growth, just by embracing a new perspective, your life may change as you push to become even better. Sis, that’s exactly what 2022 should give…a chance for you to be the Best YOU Ever!
