Set a bedtime and g o to bed each night at the same time -- and stick to it.
- Squeeze in 20 minutes of yoga and meditation to relax your mind and body.
Incorporate a nightly beauty routine. Wash your face and rinse away the da y’s troubles.
- Take a warm bath and release any lingering stress or worrisome thoughts.
Write out your tasks for the next day. Instead of tossing and turning in bed with the existential dread of your lengthy to - do list, jotting it down the night before will ease your mind.
Put your phone on Do Not Disturb (DND). Hear me out because this one is controversial. Go through your phone, add starred contacts, and update your settings. These important individuals will be able to bypass DND and reach you in case of a n emergency. (The rest of the world can wait until tomorrow.)
Tidy up your space. Clutter = stress .
Listen to calming music. Put on your favorite relaxed playlist .
Try aromatherapy. Lavender and chamomile essential oils have calming properties to help you achieve quality sleep.
- Change up your pajamas.
- Go for a walk.
- Journal. What are your intentions for the next day? The next week? Do a mental purge!
Enjoy a light meal and wait at least two hours before going to bed, allowing your body time to properly dige st the food.
- Enjoy a cup of tea.
- Close your eyes and imagine positive spaces.
