Weekly Wrap Up: Drake and Beyonce Rule the Music World

Hello, everybody! I hope you are all having a great week out there. It’s time for our weekly wrap up. There’s been quite a bit of heavy, and not so heavy, news that made headlines this week. Let’s take a look!

No Charges Against Cop In Keith Scott Case: To start off, it has been determined by there will be no charges brought against police officer Brentley Vinson who shot and killed Lamont Keith Scott two months ago in Charlotte, North Carolina. According to the DA’s office, there was evidence that the shooting was justified. Protesters did fill the streets to express their disappointment and anger at the decision. The Scott’s family claim they will still fight this, saying they have many questions concerning the police’s tactics in this case.

Michelle Obama will NOT run for Office in 2020- If you were hoping that Mrs. Obama will run for the White House in 2020, you just gonna have to accept the truth. In a humorous Rolling Stone interview, President Obama bluntly says “ Michelle will never run for office.” (insert crying emojis). While he does agree with the rest of the nation that she has resonated with the American people, he goes on to say, “ I joke she is too sensible to want to be in politics.” At least we have 8 years worth of memories of one the most graceful first ladies ever.

Drake is the most Streamed Artist of 2016– Drake fans out there get excited and praise your efforts for making the rapper the most streamed artist of this year for the second time in a row. According to the music streaming service Spotify, Drake earned a wowing 4.7 billion streams and his album Views is this year’s most streamed album. Get it Drake!!

Kanye West Checks Out of The Hospital– It’s been a rough couple of weeks for the “Famous” rapper but after being hospitalized for exhaustion over Thanksgiving weekend, Kanye West has been released from UCLA Medical Center. Kim Kardashian stayed by his side. This comes after West made some startling headlines from going off on rants during his live shows to canceling them altogether. Though the behavior was bizarre, we should keep him in our prayers.

Beyonce Drops “All Night” from “Lemonade” onto Youtube- I’m adding this at the last minute because the internet is happy that Beyonce, who’s masterpiece “Lemonade” will forever leave us in a state of awe, has released the track “All Night” as a standalone on Youtube. The video is a gorgeously shot, filled with heartwarming clips of Bey,  her hubby Jay-Z and Blue Ivy together in family bliss.

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!
