As Black women, our skin glows naturally but it’s just something about the way our skin glows in the summertime. In the words of Beyoncé, “Brown skin girl, your skin just like pearls.” You know that glow we’re talking about. It’s often imitated but can’t be touched! You were born with the “glow” and we’re spilling the tea on how to elevate that glow! Get the perfect summer glow with these summer essentials:

Exfoliate
Your skin may shed every 30 days or so and sometimes all the dead skin doesn't completely fall off, which is where exfoliating comes in. Exfoliating is super important when caring for your skin but NOT too much. Over exfoliating may scrub the skin and damage it so remember to be gentle and don't overdo it. Remember that Glow & Moisturize Dry Body Brush you received in your March Brown Sugar Box? If you haven’t already, now is the time to put it to good use! Use your dry body brush to brush away dead skin and reveal glowing silky-smooth skin. After you’re done exfoliating, your body care products can glide on much easier.

Moisturize
We’re saying bye-bye ashy over here because ain’t nobody got time for rough, dry skin! Exfoliating and moisturizing go hand in hand. You can’t have one without the other. Massage your new Glow Girl Body Shimmer into your skin. It’ll give you a refreshed dewy glow. Keeping your skin moisturized is the key to having butter-soft skin.

Keep the Sunscreen on Deck
Sunscreen is key and we can’t stress the importance of wearing it daily enough. Our melanin is beautiful and needs to be protected from the harsh elements of the environment. Believe it or not, the elements can take a toll on the skin and UV rays ain’t nothing to play with! Incorporate sunscreen into your daily skincare routine and your skin will thank you for it. If you’re vacationing or doing outdoor activities, keep a travel-size tucked in your bag.

Glow From Within
Drinking water and minding your business absolutely applies here! Keep your Relax Relate Release On the Go Water Bottle with you at all times. The phrase you are what you eat has some truth to it. Your skin’s health can be directly correlated to what you eat. Eating a well-balanced diet filled with whole foods, fruits, and vegetables can help your skin glow. Some fruits and vegetables are packed with antioxidants that may help your skin stay hydrated.
