Ingredients (Serves 2)

1 Cup Water
4 oz Bourbon
¾ Cup of Brown Sugar
2 oz. Sweet Vermouth
2-3 Dashes of Angostura Bitters
Cocktail cherries

To make the brown sugar syrup, combine water and sugar in a small pan over low heat. Stir steadily until everything is dissolved and set aside. Next, mix the rest of the ingredients together along with the syrup, making sure to stir well. Pour into glasses and top of with the cherries.

½ Cup of Dark Brown Sugar
1 Split/Scraped Vanilla Bean
1 Cup of Dark Rum
1 Teaspoon of Grated Nutmeg

Mulled wine just warms you down to the core. And there’s no better time to enjoy it than during the holidays.

Ingredients (Serves 4)

2 Bottles Red Wine
7 Whole Cloves
¼ Cup of Dark Brown Sugar
Peel of 1 Orange
1 Sliced Orange
1 Cinnamon Stick

Put all the ingredients in a slow cooker (If you don’t have a slow cooker simmer on VERY low heat – you don’t want to boil it and risk losing the alcohol or flavor from the wine), turn it on and cook for 2 hours.

Irish Coffee

Here’s another cozy treat to enjoy during the holidays while the youngins are having hot chocolate. The subtle complexity and earthy sweetness of brown sugar make it a perfect companion for the strong bitter coffee.

Ingredients (serves 3)

½ Cup of Brown Sugar
3 oz. of Irish Whiskey
½ Cup of Water
2 ½ Cup of Strong Brewed Coffee
1 Cup Whipped Cream

In a small pot combine the brown sugar and water – mix it up until you have a nice syrupy consistency. Then, mix the coffee and whiskey in a separate container before adding the brown sugar syrup. Serve into mugs and top with whipped cream.

As you can see, you don’t have to be a mixologist to make great drinks! All you need is a few key ingredients and you’ll be on your way to making superb festive libations that your guests will rave about.
