We all know that life can get stressful. Overwhelmingly stressful at times to the point we say I'm so done!" I've been there. Thankfully, I can rely on my spirituality to carry me through which is why I use mediation to help calm my overactive mind. While I don't believe you have to be spiritual to meditate, there are still many emotional, psychological, and physical benefits to the practice the average person can get. Here are a few reasons why you should get on the meditation train and add it to your daily routine:_x000D_

1.) Your Mind Becomes Sharper_x000D_

It'hard to get anything done when our heads are filled with noise. With meditation, you'll learn how to calm the conscious mind down as you focus on your breath, on positive affirmations, an object, or even the sound of your air conditioner. When a thought arises, you simply observe and let them go by bringing your focus back to what you were previously focusing on. No lie, this will take some practice but in the end, you will begin to see how sharper your focus is._x000D_

2.) You'll feel happier_x000D_

Meditation is about being present. It's also a form of gratitude for what you have today. That is hard to do when you are busy being anxious about the future, getting caught up in the past, or freaking out over situations that are out of your control. You may feel a lot of pressure on you now but, the more you meditate on a daily basis, you will begin to feel a bit lighter. Next thing you know, you'll be able to take on stressful events more calmly._x000D_

3.) Strengthens Your Intuition_x000D_

Intuition is that inner, soft voice we all have that tells us when we should do something or not. More often than not, we don't listen to it because we are listening to other people including our own doubts, fears, or worries. Mediation helps us to pay attention to how our body feels. For most us, it's that deep gut feeling that represents our intuition. It could be a different feeling on the body for other people. But how can you tell if you are stuck in your head?_x000D_

We aware the damage stress can have on our bodies. Stress is known as the silent killer . We can't see its effects but we can certainly feel it. It can result in a form of depression, anxiety, a faster heart rate, headaches, and even death. Meditation is great for improving brain function, as well as heart issues. It may not cure depression or stress itself, but mediation is a wonderful way to significantly lessen its effects.
